Fish n stuff

It's been a while since I've ranted on here. I should do it more often as it lets me release more of what I'm thinking about than keeping it in.
I just finished reading another management book I hadn't read in a long time. It's the FISH book. It brought me back to actually going there and being a part of that whole throwing fish thing and meeting those guys and watching what they do and remembering how we brought that energy back to where we worked. It made me feel like I should share it with those people who don't quite get it. Starbucks has similar ideas but they don't match my store the way I think this book does. We like to have fun and I think we should include our customers in it more than we already do. It's almost like our regulars that we know well get to join in but those people who come in off of the street don't get that feeling. Ahh it was quite inspiring. I should keep on this reading trend as it has been quite enlightening.
The part about choosing your attitide speaks so loudly with me. My favorite part was "There is always a choice abuot the way you do your work, even if there is not a choice about the work itself." Doesn't it just speak out to you? I'm a firm believer in creating fun and doing a good job at the same time but there are those days where it's not so much fun and I wonder if it's other people that are creating the not so fun attitude.
I almost wish I could make everyone read this book and then bring them down to Seattle to see it in action because it is something to watch. When we got to talk to them about why they were drawn there, what made them give up their higher paying jobs to go there, it was so interesting.
Well it's 330am and i have some work to do.
wheeee
